Commonly referred to as polyester film, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film is a typically biaxially oriented or bubble extruded thermoplastic polymer. Their property balance in comparison to many other thermoplastic polymers means PET films are among the most commonly employed substrates within the converting industry.
Featuring outstanding heat stability*, tensile strength (220 MPa TD/MD) and elongation percentages (TD 110%; MD 130%), PEN (polyethylene naphthalate) film is highly transparent (haze 2%; total light transmittance 87%), smooth-surfaced and offers good resistance to chemicals.
